Alpha Tester for Star Wars Battlefront says Game is Broken

Developer Dice and publisher Electronic Arts are moving closer to the launch of the much anticipated Star Wars Battlefront title due out November 17. Today, rumors surfaced that the game would be available for EA Access members five days ahead of launch, on November 12th. Other, less impressive rumors, have also come out about the state of the game.

NeoGAF user Illucio claims to have been an Alpha tester, and had this to say,

I’ve been Alpha testing a few games and I can say Battlefront is a complete mess and is broken. Considering that their deadline for the game is in a few weeks and they still haven’t fixed the majority of the in game problems let alone the connection problem me and other testers were having, yes it’s going to be a mess. And even a day 1 patch won’t fix all of them, I don’t know too much outside what I played, but the game is indeed rushed and it’s all because of Episode 7 releasing this December.

There are a number of things to keep in mind. This statement has not been substantiated by any other sources, so frankly, we are left with only this testers word. What this user has on his side, however, is the questionable launches that Dice has had in its storied past.

It will be interesting to see what state Battlefront is in when it launches. I would not cancel your preorders yet, however, since many people will be playing the game ahead of launch on EA Access. Perhaps it is best to wait for their opinions.
