Infamous Vita Accidentally Revealed?

infamous ss 4

It’s possible that a Vita entry in the Infamous franchise may be in the works. This was perhaps unwittingly revealed during an interview with Nate Fox of Sucker Punch.

When asked about the possibility of a Vita version, Fox stumbled with the question.

“Right now we’re only talking about the PS4 game… I’d love to tell you about any Vita related titles when… or if the time comes.”

It’s not often that a developer is caught so off guard about a question like this. You can see that Fox is carefully choosing his words, either because he’s worried about saying too much or because he’s worried about saying anything at all. The end result is something that doesn’t seem a million miles away from a confirmation.

Either way, without any information, it’s a little early to start getting excited about things. Infamous Vita may still be years off, if it exists at all, and it may even still be in the early days of pre-production. If that’s the case, there probably isn’t even a game. One things for certain: this isn’t the sort of thing that’s just going to pop out of nowhere, although it’s fair to say Sony’s handheld desperately needs something to help boost its first party support.

You can check out the “reveal” at around the 5:45 mark in the video above. Infamous: Second Son is released early next year. If there really is an Infamous Vita, expect details about that after the PS4-exclusive releases in 2014.
