Newegg Publish Page for World of Warcraft on Xbox

warlords-of-draenor

World of Warcraft has “always” been coming to consoles. Since the early days of the 360, somebody knew somebody who knew somebody who had an anonymous source that claimed Blizzard were hard at work on bringing the game to console. This time is slightly different, in that retailer Newegg has published a page with a unique serial number offering Xbox Live gametime for World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor.

Now, it’s of the utmost important to point out that there’s more than a possibility that this has come about from an accidental click in Newegg’s database software and that there’s nothing official to make us think that this is or ever has been in the works. There’s also no official mention of it being “first time on consoles” in the product description. Still, searching for the serial number “K4W-00038-WOWWOD” comes up with nothing but Newegg, and K4W is a prefix used across Microsoft’s console platform.

What that means is that if this is a mistake, and if these serial numbers aren’t somehow automatically generated by being linked to a time card, someone has purposefully put that number together. Take that as an indicator that, maybe, just maybe, someone did this on purpose.

The only other question, and part of why you should hesitate before believing it, is that World of Warcraft: Xbox wasn’t a megaton announcement at Microsoft’s E3 presser, but only time will tell if anything will come of it.
