Secret Bases Coming to Pokemon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire

 pokemon-3DS

Game Freak makes terrific games and finds a way to capitalize on them twice. Whether it was giving some color to the classic – Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue – or making minor changes to the overall game play – like Pokemon Heart Gold and Pokemon Soul Silver – they have given us good reasons to re-buy their titles. In November, Game Freak and Nintendo are doing it again with Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire; this time around, however, the changes are major.

We already know that Ruby and Sapphire are getting the X/Y treatment: 3D visuals and Mega Evolution. Fortunately for fans, that is not all that is going into Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The developers announced today that they are bringing customization options to their next Pokemon titles. Players will now be able to build their own secret bases, complete with mazes and traps, which other players can download and attempt themselves. Fans will also be able to display flags they have retrieved from other players secret bases. The more flags a player has, the higher their rank.

Secret bases can be shared via Street Pass or QR Code. More details will be made available closer to launch.
