Toad Getting Love in Captain Toad

Remember those silly mini Toad levels that were scattered throughout Super Mario World 3D on the Wii U. For myself, I always thought they were fun to play, although perhaps to simple. Well, now Toad is getting his own game based on these levels, and it is called Captain Toad.

It appears as if Nintendo has done a little extra work to make Captain Toad feel like its own title, and not just an exaggerated version of what we already have played in Super Mario 3D World. While Toad will still be doing some tower climbing in a 3D environment, Nintendo also showed off some on-the-rails game play that could be interesting.

Very little was revealed outside of the video. What we did see was what I expect out of a Captain Toad game. It is nice to see that there will be a variety of environments to work through. My only concern is how Nintendo will price this title. It seems a little lacking for a full scale release.

More details should be made available leading up to its holiday 2014 release.
