Square Enix Announce Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris

Laracroft-osiris

If you thought Rise of the Tomb Raider would be the only Tomb Raider title announced tonight… you’d have probably been quite sensible. Still, Square Enix have bucked expectation and announced Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, a sequel to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.

It looks very similar to the original, with a few major changes. First of all, there’ll be four player co-op this time around. Fans of Guardian of Light will remember that the co-op was incredibly good fun, and adding more players to the mix is bound to add an entirely new levels to things.

You’ll probably also notice that the visuals are much, much sharper. This time around, you’ll only be able to buy the game on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. For those that loved the original but don’t have a next-gen machine or a decent enough PC will need to wait to upgrade if they want to continue to play.

The game itself looks very much more of the same, with puzzles and shooting segments interspersed around levels. It’ll be strange to jump between “Laras” – we thought we’d be done with the older one by now – but it’s nice to see that Square can handle two separate lines at the same time.
