Metal Gear Online V Will Have Multiplayer Mode

Although Kojima officially revealed that Kojima Productions LA were working on a new Metal Gear Online, little else has been said about how multiplayer will fit into Metal Gear Solid V. That’s still true, very little has been said. Still, it has been reconfirmed on the Kojima Productions Alert 4 podcast, and it’s been said that it’ll work in a very interesting way.

Via MetalGearSolid.nl:

“There’s a lot of interaction going on to make sure that the online portion works hand in hand with the singleplayer option.” KP podcast host Sean Eyestone explained. “And it really comes together as a nice, coherent whole.”

Metal Gear Online 2, removed from Metal Gear Solid 4 after attention had died down, was one of the very best online games of this generation, marred only by poor log-in servers and the “box trick.” It had an excellent community, a community that was helped by tournaments and the training grounds, which allowed you to help new recruits with the basics of the game. Here’s hoping that Kojima Productions knows what worked for MGO2, and doesn’t presume that it would be easier to copy too much from the likes of Battlefield.
