Hardline is More than a BF4 Expansion

battlefield-6_690x345

While it’s clear that there are similarities between Battefield 4 and Battlefield: Hardline, it’s fair to say that it appears that it’s going to be more than just a small expansion.  New maps, new modes and a brand new campaign is more than enough to justify the new cost, but some people – especially those already wary of yearly sequels – are less willing to give EA the benefit of the doubt, especially after the issues they had with the last game (released less than a year ago).

Multiplayer designer Thad Sasser of Visceral Games, who’re behind Hardline, had this to say in defense of full price tag:

What you see here on the show floor here today is just a small portion of what we got. Obviously, we have a wide range of maps, we got a lot more weapons, we got a lot more cool gadgets, we got a lot more exciting stuff to show you in the coming weeks and months. We have a slew of new game modes; I’ll think you’ll understand where the value proposition is with this game. There’s a lot of new content. It’s not just a reskin, or a re-use of assets, we got all new assets, we have lots of stuff still coming in. So look forward, check us out in the future, play it and tell us what you think.
