Puzzles and Dragons Z + Puzzles and Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition Comes May 22nd

The time has come for the hit Japanese match three game, Puzzles and Dragons, to land on the Nintendo eShop and in stores. There is lots to get excited about for match 3 fans, including a special Super Mario Bros. edition that is being added at no extra charge.

Puzzles and Dragons Z + Puzzles and Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition will definitely appeal to a larger audience. Many people would over look a Puzzles and Dragons game, myself included. However, tack on some Mario and you have peaked my interest. This was a really smart move for the developers as it bring a niche game (at best) to North America to sell to a wide audience.

“The drag-and-match fun of these games will attract fans of puzzle games,”

said Pierre-Paul Trepanier, Nintendo of Canada’s senior director and general manager.

“Then it will surprise them with a much deeper and richer experience than they expected.”

I’ve played the demo for this game, and our review copy will come on the games launch day here in North America. We should have a review up for this title sometime next week. Stay tuned for more Puzzles and Dragons coverage on Games Reviews.
