Nintendo responds on amiibo demand

amiiboo_large_518x388

Nintendo recently sent out a release which speaks to amiibo demand and the companies desire to make amiibo available to everyone.

Here are a few quotes from a press release (via IGN):

We appreciate the enthusiasm that our fans continue to show toward amiibo. Sales for the product have exceeded our expectations. We understand how frustrating it can be at times if consumers are unable to find certain figures, and we apologize for that.

We’re trying to meet the demands of our fans and consumers by increasing the amount of amiibo we manufacture and ship to retail. We may continue to see consumer demand outpace supply levels for certain characters at times, but we will do our best to prevent that from happening.

Nintendo understands that demand may still outwiegh supply, but says they will do a better job of letting consumers know when products will be heading to store shelves. Things get especially crazy in North America where Canadian and US release dates do not always happen at the same time, often leaving consumers confused.

Time will only tell if Nintendo has what it takes to fix this problem. One thing is for sure: I’d kill for all three of the Yarn Yoshi amiibo, so Nintendo better rectify the problem by then!
