Fan Creates Custom Zelda Controller… For The PS3

zelda-ps3controller

It’s not unusual for the crafty sort to paint controllers or even consoles, and there’s some really amazing stuff out there. The Legend of Zelda is a regular source for fans, and we’ve all seen custom Wiis, Gamecubes, controllers and Gameboys masked with Gorons, fairies and Zoras. Less usual is to find Zelda-releated fan art on PlayStation products, but one person has bucked expectation.

Created by Reddit user dullknife45 for a friend on their birthday, I’m sure we can all agree we need better, more technically talented friends.

The controller is complete with leather straps along the grips and a made-from-scratch metal Hyrule shield to top it off. Even the green colour – which is decidedly Zelda – was custom made.

Completely unique, this isn’t anything you’re ever likely to see in the shops. Move forward fifty years and Nintendo are still unlikely to be providing the Zelda IP to Sony for custom controllers. If you’re desperate for something similar, dullknife45 provides step-by-step images via imgur, meaning you can follow along if you have the skills and equipment.

Whatever your console of choice, I think this is something that everybody can appreciate. A job well done – now if we could only play a Zelda game that looked like this with it, I for one would be deliriously happy.
