Made by a team led by Tomasz Gop, the senior producer on The Witcher 2, Lords of the Fallen is a new next-gen action RPG due in 2014. Described in the press release with words like “challenging” and “demanding,” this might be one to watch for fans of Dark Souls and its ilk. With rich RPG elements and a focus on a rich fantasy world in which humans have been abandoned by their gods, aficionados of the genre can expect more information from E3, where Lords of the Fallen will be playable.

It’s not all going to be an uphill struggle though. You’ll be able to customize your character by utilizing a deep skill tree and “advanced combat systems.”

And whatever your first impressions of the game, you have to love the picture that accompanied the reveal.

From the press release:

“Our team is building Lords of the Fallen specifically for players who enjoy taking on huge challenges, where the odds are stacked against them,” said Tomasz Gop, executive producer, CI Games. “From the very beginning, Lords of the Fallen will intrigue and satisfy players’ hunger to explore each corner of a brand new world, freely customize and build their own character and take down some of the most epic enemies ever seen.”
