New Content in Ori and the Blind Forest Is On Point

Ori and the Blind Forest received a perfect 10/10 score form us at Games Reviews and for good reason. This is by far one of the best games I have ever played. Graphically it is superb, audibly outstanding, and it plays almost flawlessly. When it was announced that more content was being added to the game, and that there was a definitive edition, we realized we were getting a second chance to gush about this fabulous game.

Microsoft sent over a copy of the Definitive Edition of Ori and the Blind Forest and we instantly dug in…and play through the entire game again before hoping over to the new content. A lot has been added, including new areas and new enemies to defeat. What is added isn’t that crazy and different, but it is just more of the same. And this is all we needed from the development team behind this fantastic title.

Outside of an option to change the difficulty, the rest of the additions to Ori are essentially just Ori 2.0. New areas, new abilities, new enemies. Moon Studios also indicated that they fixed a number of things that people ‘complained’ (mentioned) regarding the initial release. These changes are not bugs or glitches, but rather smaller, perhaps less noticeable thing. For my part, had I not been given the briefing document I wouldn’t have noticed anything had really changed in the original game – outside of the difficult level options.

We loved Ori, and think you should pick it up right away. If you are still on the fence, feel free to read our review of the original game, then, go buy the definitive version. You will not be disappointed!
