Velocity 2X Coming to Xbox One, PC

FuturLab have announced that they’re partnering up with publisher Sierra to bring their top rated PlayStation 4 and Vita game Velocity 2X to Xbox One, PC, Mac and Linux.

The ports will be done by FuturLab themselves, with publishing done by Sierra.

This won’t be the only collaboration for the two companies either, with more planned in the near future.

James Marsden said:

Self publishing is HARD. I spent more time doing PR and marketing on Velocity 2X than I spent designing levels. I became a bottleneck for the whole project. That was far from ideal.

Thanks to blogging it’s now common knowledge that marketing is just as important as making a great-innovative-artistically-stunning-multiple-award-winning-GOTY (some people might say more important).

So, given that marketing is vital to success, who could be better suited to hold aloft our creations than Sierra? The best bit is that we retain control of our IP…

It’s the first time a FuturLab IP has appeared on a Microsoft platform. The original Velocity was available on PC.

Concerned PlayStation fans need not worry. Marsden has said they’ve not been forgotten about.

Don’t you worry about that, FuturLab still loves PlayStation and its loyal players, and we’ll continue to work closely with Sony to make sure the fan base we’ve worked hard to build is well served.
