PS4 Owner receives Electric Shocks, Asks If He Should Exchange Console

You know that moment when you’re tapping away at a faulty piece of electronic equipment, getting electric shocks, and you’re not sure whether you should keep tapping or return it to the manufacturer? PSN user Bogusm had that very problem with his PS4 and, rather than take it back to the retailer to be exchanged for a working console, he took to the PlayStation forums hoping to get advice on the issue.

The first time I tried to eject a game disc I got an electric shock when pressing the eject button on my Playstation 4. After that I get an electric shock almost every time. Feels like touching an electric fence.

I am not sure I dare letting my kid use the PS4 any more. Should I return the unit or what?

So for what we can only presume is quite a long time, both Bogusm and his children have been using their PS4 as if the shock is some kind of built-in feature. Only now has he jumped into action, by posting a new thread on the internet. The thread title implies that he’s worried the shock could eventually become fatal.

Of course, there’s always the possibility that someone came on the internet and just lied, although one forum user pretty succinctly sums up the entire thing:

If this is real it is The dumbest question asked on any forum ever
