Sly Cooper Leaping onto the Silver Screen

Sly-cooper-movie_690x289

Hot on the heels of Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper is going to be making it into cinemas in 2016. The infamous gang of thieves will be starring in their very own state-of-the-art gorgeous feature film, probably involving a caper or two. You’ll almost certainly want to take your kids to see Sly Cooper, especially since you’ll secretly (or not so secretly) going for yourself anyway.

Sly Cooper will loosely follow the plot of the first game, in which the raccoon must recover pages from the ‘Thievius Raccoonus,’ stolen by a gang known as the fiendish five. It’ll make for a great blockbuster movie actually: lots of humour, lots of locations, plenty of scope for action scenes. Along with Sly, you can expect appearances from Bentley and Murray, as well as Carmelita Fox (although who will be playing her is anybody’s guess).

Ratchet and Clank, announced last year, will be in cinemas in 2015, and Sony have previously announced films based on Infamous and Uncharted. It could be a good couple of years for gamers who enjoy films, especially with the two animated features. It’s hard to deny, looking at the trailers, that there’s plenty of scope for an hour and a half. Hell, I’d probably watch an extended version of the above trailer for a good chunk of that.

Watch for more information on Sly Cooper in the run up to its 2016 release date.
