Dualshock 3 Usable on Jailbroken iOS 7

Controllers-for-All_690x515

A brand new Jailbreak hack allows for users of iOS 7 to play controller-compatible games with a PlayStation Dualshock 3 controller. This is great news for those that want a controller for their phone but don’t necessarily want to buy something new to go with it. It’s easy to set up – presuming you already know the basics of a hacked phone – and will no doubt change the way some people play games on their phone.

Controllers for All allows you to play any MFi supporting game with the PlayStation 3 remote, and that’s just the beginning. The creator of the app hopes that, some time soon, you’ll also be able to use the Dualshock 4. You can see it in action below.

You need to pair Controllers for All with an iOS device via PC, Mac or Linux just once – using another app calls SixPair – but this only has to happen once. After that, it seems you can plug and play to your hearts content. It’s worth noting that this isn’t a free tweak (it’s available to download from Cydia’s ModMYI repo for $1.99), although early reports seem quite positive. It’s a shame that the cost will probably act as a barrier for something that could easily have opened up a new stream of gaming for some, but I guess those that already know about the iOS potential will be happy to shell out for the convenience of using their PlayStation controllers.
