Xbox One X Coverage: Quantum Break in 4K

There are a ton of impressive titles already enhanced on the Xbox One X, but I'm pretty sure no upgrade is as pronounced as the enhancements made to Quantum Break. With the faster load times, more stable frame rate, and upgraded 4K visuals, nothing else compares!

Xbox One X Review

We all know about the power packed under the hood of the Xbox One X. Microsoft is boasting that their latest console has 40% more power than any other console on the market, with a 2.3 GHz clocked 8-core Custom AMD CPU, 12 GB of GDDR5 of graphics memory, and 6 Teraflop GPU enabled 4K for outstanding picture quality. For your hardcore, technological expert, all of this data means something; for the rest of us, it's a lot of numbers and acronyms that sound great, although we aren't entirely sure what they mean. But at the end of the day, what does the Xbox One ...

Xbox One X Coverage: Frame Rate is why I Upgraded

The Xbox One X is doing a lot for gamers right now by providing true 4K and HDR picture. Developers are loving it, embracing it, and doing whatever they can to push 4K updates to their Xbox One lineups. 4K and HDR is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but my reason for upgrading to an Xbox One X wasn't for that: I wanted frame rate improvements and faster load times, and for the most part, it seems like companies are delivering.

Xbox One X Coverage: Assassin’s Creed Origins

One of the more high profile titles we received with our review bundle was Assassin's Creed Origins, developed and produced right here in Canada at Ubisoft Montreal. From top to bottom, the reimagined Assassin's Creed title is phenomenal in more ways than one, and with only a few hiccups, it wasn't hard to slap an outstanding review score on this one. While our initial review as done on a console that did not support 4K, we knew we would have to give the title a spin a second time on the Xbox One X. Despite having over 50 hours in my original game, it didn't ...

Super Lucky’s Tale Review

The best part about reviewing a game later than other outlets is too see what the chatter is around a specific title, and being able to feed off of that. In general, the majority of outlets are on the same page when it comes to titles, the things they do well, and the things they do poorly. After spending a significant amount of time with the title on Xbox One X, I jumped online to see what the reaction was within the media circle. I was shocked. I was seeing scores of 5 and 6 out of 10, and was flabbergasted on how that was possible. So, I returned to Super ...

Xbox One X Coverage: Zoo Tycoon Ultimate Animal Collection

Zoo Tycoon was a release title when the Xbox One first launched, and people were really excited to get the beloved PC Tycoon title on their consoles and big screens. Unfortunately, a number of major issues held that original title back, like huge limits on how much people could put in their parks, extremely long load times, and a myriad of technical issues and graphical hiccups. It was a fun, but majorly flawed experience. With the Xbox One X, Microsoft is taking another stab at Zoo Tycoon with the Ultimate Animal Collection. Does the extra power and speed in ...

Xbox One X Coverage: Rush – A Disney Pixar Adventure

Having kids in the house for the majority of the day means our Xbox One X coverage has to be pretty selective when they are around. Yesterday, the focus was on Disneyland Adventures enhanced in 4K on the Xbox One X; today, we are looking at another Disney property, Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure. While both games are similar in their scope and audience, they do enough things differently, and have enough variety in franchises, to make them feel distinctly different. With both enhanced in 4K, they are both a no-brainer purchase for that young Disney fan in the ...

Xbox One X Coverage: Disneyland Adventures in 4K

With the Xbox One X rolling out to retailers and consumers tomorrow, Microsoft has done double duty in making sure a good number of review consoles have hit the market, with games that have already received updating to support 4K and HDR. One of those titles, Disneyland Adventures, doesn't seem like the type of game that reviewers would want to use to show of their Xbox One X, but I understand the reasoning: it's a kids game, and Microsoft wants to make sure that every parent knows that getting an Xbox One X isn't just for them.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Review

I'm down with mowing down Nazis as much as the next guy, but I've never been a huge fan of the Wolfenstein series. To be fair, I'm not sure I've ever give the series a fair shake, so when the opportunity to review The New Colossus was presented to me, I figured, why not. I'm glad I did; despite a very bloody and violent story that picks up right after the end of Wolfenstein: The New Order, there is something incredibly satisfying of ridding a future United States from Nazi oppression, a current political discourse I'm unwilling to engage in now. But does this ...
