Objection!: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice 3DS Demo Impressions

I’m not a Phoenix Wright fan. I’ve tried the demos before and I just didn’t think the games were that good. And yet, I keep downloading the demos. I’m not sure why. I suppose it has to do with my love of adventure/rpg/puzzle games. I keep hoping that I’ll love one of these Phoenix Wright 3DS games. So I downloaded the new Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice demo. What did I think of it? Did I like it better than previous demos? Here are my thoughts on the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice demo!

The new Phoenix Wright demo sucks. OBJECTION! I don’t believe you for a second sir. Why would you be writing an article about it if it sucked?!

Actually, I liked this new Phoenix Wright demo. Its very similar to the other demos, but something just clicked with me here. I like that Phoenix Wright is put into a foreign country where he doesn’t know the rules. I liked the beginning cutscene and the dancing cutscene even though I’m not an anime fan. And I thought the court room puzzle solving/guessing was interesting. You really have to pay attention to what the characters are saying and try to figure out whats a lie and whats true. Its a very interesting demo, although it was way too short.

Just as the Phoenix Wright demo was getting super interesting, the demo ended. Phoenix Wright broke the fourth wall and told me that he’ll get the kid out of this mess…in the full game! OBJECTION! Its not right to tease players like that. Grrr.

So I don’t know. Maybe I should go back and see if I like the other demos better. I admit the other demos were not horrible and kind of neat, but they just never made me want to play more. This new demo definitely has me interested and I might think about getting the game when its cheaper. A look at the other game’s demos may help me decide!
