Since the word history first became a part of the dictionary, Hollywood has been making movies based on games. Tomb Raider, Prince of Persia, Tekken, Street Fighter, Hitman, Max Payne. The list goes on and on and on. Unfortunately, none of them have ever gotten close to doing the game justice. But why haven’t things swung the other way yet? Why have the big game developers not looked at some of the films out there and decided to run with them to create what could be some of the greatest games in the history of Nerdvana?

So, without further ado, here are the movies we would love to see get the game treatment:

  1. Edge Of Tomorrow

As far as Tom Cruise films go, this one actually delivered something new. The premise alone is perfect to be turned into a game, what with an alien race known as Mimics arriving in Germany, preparing to storm continental Europe first and the world after. That and the fact it is set in an age where the advancements in warfare technology could make for some badass gameplay, not to mention the ease in which respawning could slot into the overall game. Yeah, this is one that would make a truly sweet console ride.

  1. Kite

If you’ve ever watched Kick Ass and thought, “yeah, that would make a great game, a game I could invest days and weeks into,” then you need to know that the original premise was presented in Kite, which is way more epic in terms of story. If you’ve never heard of it, then you need to start doing some anime streaming because the story of Sawa is wicked-cool. After her cop-father was murdered, she became an orphaned, schoolgirl, and an assassin, one that is determined to avenge her father’s death with the help of his ex-partner. Like we said, the story may seem somewhat familiar.

  1. Deadpool

There is a reason why Deadpool became the highest grossing R-rated film of all time, it is amazing. And it has all the ingredients to be an awesome game too. The thing that made Tekken a great game was the fact it was pure nasty, and that is what Deadpool is, just with the added edge of having a great backstory, a great protagonist and some very cool characters to play around with. This really could succeed as a Batman: Arkham City style video game, just less visually dark, much funnier and, well, better. Who knows, with enough pressure from us fans, Marvel may concede once more.

  1. The Expendables 3

Who to give the runner-up place to was a tough one, and it was a battle between this and the Bourne trilogy, which could be epic as a sort of Metal Gear Solid style game. But the fact that the Expendables is such a silly, popcorn, and far out party of pistols and crazy characters, it would make a great game. We know they have made two of these before, but they need to up the ante. Chop and change between characters, sort of like in GTA V, and you could experience some great gameplay. You could even get really good with one guy or girl and then take to the online world to show off your skills in a sort of battle royale. We’d play it, for sure.
