Microsoft Announced Age of Empires Definitive Version

Out of left field, Microsoft announced today that in the next few months, we would be getting a definitive edition of the original Age of Empires game! 20 years ago, this real time strategy gem was released to many accolades, and now Microsoft is bringing it back with 4K support and much more. This isn’t simply a re-release, but instead a release with tons of new bells and whistles.

If you lived through the embarrassment and failure of Age of Empires Online, you were probably one of many wondering if Age of Empires would ever make a comeback. Although we haven’t got a new game in the series yet, we have received new DLC for Age of Empires II, and now a definitive edition of the original. A new title is only a little ways off, right?
