Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

I was wrong. I was oh so wrong. It turns out that Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is a real game. And it is coming to the Nintendo Switch. During the Ubisoft conference today (which is still going on as I write this), Mario + Rabbids was announced! What do I think of this game?

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is a real game. Let me repeat that: Mario + Rabbids is a real game. I am stunned by this. You know what stuns me even more? The game actually looks good!

The new Mario game from Ubisoft is a tactical rpg. The game does have an adventure mode where the characters run around in a 3D environment (that looked amazing), but the battle system is pure tactical rpg goodness. Of course, since this is a Rabbids game AND a Mario game, things are really bizarre here. Yes, I dig the bizarreness.

Characters can jump off of each other in battle, go through Rabbid pipes, and fast off against Mario and Rabbid enemies (including one wearing a Donkey Kong tie). It looks like all of the popular Mario characters in this game, like Luigi, Yoshi, and Toad!

This game may seem goofy to some, ok it is goofy, but it has a real charm to it. Ubisoft hinted that there was even more to the game then what we saw! What else does this game have up its sleeve? We are very likely to see Mario + Rabbids during Nintendo Treehouse!

Here is a trailer for the game:

It looks like there will be individual Mario + Rabbids figures too. These figures are not amiibo. Still pretty cool though!

What do you think of Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle? Will you pick it up for Nintendo Switch?
