Pokémon Sun and Moon: Forbidden Light Launches Today

The latest expansion for the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon set of the Pokémon Trading Card Game launched today at retail. The new expansion builds off the Prism Star game mechanic introduced in the last expansion. Brand new Pokémon Tins, starter decks, and booster packs are available now, and we have a bunch to review!

From the Pokémon Company:

The intense light emanating from the Ultra Necrozma-GX has attracted other Pokémon, including Lucario-GX, Greninja-GX, Zygarde-GX, Yveltal-GX, Volcanion Prism Star and Acreus Prism Star, but will they be able to resist its allure?

Here is what the new expansion brings to the Pokémon Trading Card Game:

Over 130 cards, including:

5 new Prism Star cards

8 Pokémon-GX

6 Ultra Beasts

15 Trainer cards

2 Special Energy cards

We unboxed an entire Booster Box of Forbidden Light packs, and you can watch that live stream video recap via the tweet below. We will be reviewing all the items sent to us by the Pokémon Company in the next little while, although the video below does sum up a lot of my thoughts, including the fantastic artwork on this series! For the firs time in a long time, I felt that every card I pulled – whether a rare or a common – was fantastic from a collectors standpoint, because of the great artwork.
