Nintendo Launches Dedicated Toy-Con Garage Video

By now, we all know what to expect from the Toy-Con 1 and Toy-Con 2 packs that will hit retail when Nintendo Labo goes live on April 20, but what we are less familiar with is how the Toy-Con Garage will work. Toy-Con Garage will allow creative users to make their own toys using the features built into the Joy-Con controllers. Check out the trailer below!

Nintendo will be launching a whole video series on Toy-Con Garage, so stay tuned to our site for more details. Today, we are looking at Part 1: The Basics!

From the video above, people who own Labo might be only limited by their own imagination. The video details creating a vibrating Joy-Con (similar to the RC car included in Toy-Con 1), an air guitar where you press buttons to simulate sounds, and even a countdown timer when shaking the Joy-Con controller. While I’m personally not that creative of a guy, seeing what others build with Toy-Con Garage will be really fun, and could create a whole new wave of YouTube sensations!

What’s great about the Toy-Con Garage is that it appears to teach people basic programing and engineering. As the video outlines, when creating a project, you are looking for an input and an output. The input being shaking the Joy-Con or pressing a button, and the output being a certain tone.

Are you excited for Toy-Con Garage? Let us know and be ready when Labo launches on April 20th!
